Headgear. From the ludicrous to the lavish, top hats are iconic.
Nothing says old-timey goodness - or stage magician - quite like it. Perfect for concealing important documents, lethal weaponry, or prehaps small animals, even.

Fascinators, or rather, extravagant hair pieces, are the lighter-hearted spiritual descendant of the hat. Combining a very chic gathering of flowers or feathers, they add a suggestion of innocent girlishness without the somewhat matronly tones of a full-blown bonnet. However, it must be remarked that a fascinator is intended as an alternative to the hat, and not as a companion. Combining the two would give the wearer a distinct impression of some exotic type of poultry who has escaped into the laundryline.

quote
Was I to believe him in earnest in his intention to penetrate to the centre of this massive globe? Had I been listening to the mad speculations of a lunatic, or to the scientific conclusions of a lofty genius? Where did truth stop? Where did error begin?
